Types Of Service:
Legislation
Statutory Sick Pay
Payments are made in accordance with your employment contract and current legislation which are shown separately on the wage slips. Statutory Sick Pay starts from the fourth day of sickness and is normally payable for 28 weeks. Form SSP1’s are prepared for non qualifying employees.
Student Loans
Records are maintained in our system for P11s, P14s/P60s and P35 annual returns reporting each month, the deduction will be shown on the payslip. The amount deducted is paid over to The Inland Revenue along with the Tax and National Insurance due for the same pay period.
Statutory Maternity, Paternity & Adoption Pay
Leave is available for up to one year. The current legislation is thirty nine weeks maternity pay. If the employee has earned below the lower earnings limit, or have not been employed by your company long enough, then we will prepare SMP1 forms. Fathers can take one – two weeks leave within eight weeks of the date of birth. The A1 Payroll Bureau will send the relevant SC3 form, “Becoming a Parent” together with our letter confirming the entitlements due, in more detail. SPP1 forms are prepared for non qualifying fathers. Rights to adoption and paternity leave and pay will entitle eligible employees to take paid leave when a child is newly placed for adoption.
Recovering Maternity or Sick Pay
The A1 Payroll Bureau will automatically recover maternity, paternity or adoption pay plus any compensation due from HM Revenue & Customs. This is done by reducing the National Insurance on the Inland Revenue remittance report. This also applies to the recovery of Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP). Statutory Sick Pay is recovered under the National Insurance percentage threshold scheme. This scheme is designed to help employers who have a high proportion of their workforce sick at any one time and is not restricted to small businesses.
